Joan grew up among vines. From his grandfather — who gives the winery its name — he learned everything about the world of the land and of wine. His childhood memories are steeped in the smells of harvest days in the press house: ripe candied fruit and caramel, pastry sweetness, carbon dioxide… The winery's name is a tribute to that man, who passed on his love of the land to his young grandson.
A winemaker by vocation, Joan started making his own wines more than ten years ago, but it wasn't until 2013 that he decided to bring them to market.
Joan and his team's aim is to make quality wines, treating the land and the vineyard as the starting point and top priority, in order to get the fullest expression and character of the native varieties and the climate of the Marina Alta.
